New Deck

I have been told a number of times that I need to blog more often. Well, as I said before, without a baby I really have nothing to blog about. My closest grandson has been wanting to build a deck on the front of my house for quite some time. He and I had talked about this and he was going to figure out all of the materials that we would need. But, Chuck beat him to it & took it upon himself to do the figuring. One Sunday afternoon we went to Lowe's and picked up all of the material. You all know Chuck, if it is his money he is very tight with it! This time it was my money and he was spending it like he was a "drunken sailor." He spent my money faster than I can spend it at Babies R Us !
As you all know Chuck is not the fastest worker in the group but; he became as busy as a little beaver working on the deck. I have been in awe of his determination. I think he was wanting to get it done before the "little man" came to work to put him to shame! I told Chuck he needed to slow down so that there would be some work for the "little man" when he came to work.
Yesterday we went to get the "little man" and he helped with the screwing of the decking. I am happy to say that it is almost done! We are a board shy of being completed and a railing has to be put around and a small step for me to get down onto the deck. I am hoping that by next week it will be completed. I would post pictures of it but I am not sure that I know how to do that! I know many say it is very easy but I struggle with such stuff!
