Hello Everyone,
I know I have not written in quite some time. I really don't have any excuses except for the last 4 1/2 weeks.
On July 4th, I went to the hospital to pick up my 39th baby. I was sooooo excited. ( My last baby left in March '09.) The baby was a little girl. She weighed 7# 5 oz. and she was just adorable! I, of course, had to make the trip to show her off and she was a good little girl. She slept the whole afternoon, in spite of being passed around.
She ate 2oz. of formula and seemed to be happy. She slept good through most of the night. I think my fun ??????? began the next day! She might have been little but she had a huge set of lungs and she cried and screamed a lot and for long periods of time. This went on for a couple of days.
I changed her formula thinking that it might help. Oh, how silly of me! After 39 babies you would have thought I would have known what was wrong with her; but I was totally beside myself. I have never had a baby that acted like this. Nine years ago I had taken care of a baby like this but I didn't think my little one was going to be that bad.
Lyss was here with me as she was starting her "nanny training" I wish she could have had a better baby to learn with but ....... that wasn't how it was to be. She did a great job and was so much help. I must say,
it was great to have her here and she was a life saver. Thank you so much Lyss, I love you!
We made a number of trips to the pediatrician and after another formula change and Zantac we thought we were on the right track. No such luck! She still screamed & screamed for hours at a time.
Finally we had to go to a special doctor in Syracuse. He increased her medicine and increased her calories in her formula.
Then as it happened, she was placed with her new mom & dad. I am hoping that she will be a good girl for her new parents. They hopefully will not believe that she was such a fussy baby!
Now maybe you can see why I haven't had time to blog for the last few weeks or months.
I trust that you all have had a good summer and done lots of exciting things. I am hoping that I will
keep up with my blogging now.
The BEST big sister!
