Down December 1

Just let me say that December did not start out the way I was hoping. I was talking with Elrena (Chuck's sister) and Grandma said that she had to go potty. Okay, she is old enough to go by herself and so she headed that way.
She was just going into the bathroom when all of the sudden I heard a huge "thug" and she yelled that she had fallen. Of course, I had noticed that! I quickly hung up the phone, yelled for Chuck and rushed to her.
She had fallen on her left side and hit her head on the floor, her glasses were bent; her shoe was off and she was saying that she thought she had broken her hip. Oh happy day, just what I didn't need!
We tried to get her up and it was very difficult. Finally, we did get he set up and up on her feet and we did get her to the toilet. All of this time, Chuck was having trouble with his back and he began to feel light headed! He had to get some juice and sit down.
I called Grandma's Dr. and he said to get her to the e.r. because of bump on her head. We were able to get her up and on my walker and fairly comfortable.
I called 911 and they took her to Community Hospital, in Hamilton. Her hospital of choice!
We had to gather the babies stuff and then we headed to Hamilton.
I sat in the emergency room and waited forever it seemed. They took her for x-rays. They came back with good news and not so good news.
First good news: nothing done to her left knee (which looked terrible; swollen and horribly black & blue) no broken hip
Second bad news: broken pelvis :( not good. Nothing to do for this injury but let it heal itself. She broke the left side both the front and the back.
They admitted her, after 6 hours of waiting, she will have some pain management and physical therapy. The doctor said about 2 weeks of that and then she will go to rehab. I have not told her that part yet. She didn't put up a fuss about being admitted and of course, she has it all figured out that her next stop will be the nursing home and then of course, she will just die there. She is every the optimistic person!
Those of you who were thinking that you might take her have missed your chance. I am sorry for that.
Think of her often and pray for her and for those that take care of her. As you may know she can be a bit difficult to deal with.
Hope you all have had a better start for your December!
